〜Connecting with the World through Fair Trade: Taking a Step from Kamakura to Change the Future〜

Kamakura Ethical Lab is pleased to announce its participation as an exhibitor at the "Kamakura International Exchange Festival 2025," which will be held at the Kotoku-in Temple (home of the Great Buddha of Kamakura) on Sunday, November 9, 2025. This historic festival, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, aims to promote international exchange and cross-cultural understanding at the citizen level. Kamakura Ethical Lab will use this wonderful opportunity to spread the principles of Fair Trade and make ethical consumption more accessible to all visitors.
About the "Kamakura International Exchange Festival 2025"
The "Kamakura International Exchange Festival" began in 1995 with the goal of fostering international exchange and cross-cultural understanding among local citizens. Held every autumn at Kotoku-in Temple, famous for the "Great Buddha of Kamakura," the festival features a vibrant, international atmosphere with bazaars, stage performances, and food stalls from around the world. It is a valuable chance to experience diverse cultures amidst Kamakura's beautiful autumn foliage.
Kamakura Ethical Lab's Exhibition Highlights
At the Kamakura Ethical Lab booth, we will offer a multi-sensory experience where visitors can "see, touch, and taste" Fair Trade.
Fair Trade Panel Display and Leaflet Distribution: We will distribute easy-to-understand leaflets explaining the basic mechanism of Fair Trade and the journey that led to Kamakura City being certified as Japan’s 7th Fair Trade Town.
Sales of Fair Trade Products: We will offer a variety of Fair Trade products that help bring smiles to producers in distant countries. By handling the products directly, visitors can appreciate their high quality and the meaningful stories behind them. Three local Fair Trade shops—Ethical-ya, Coloridas, and Helping Hands Penan-JP—will be setting up shop at our booth.
Special Gift: Individuals who agree with and support the activities of Kamakura Ethical Lab will receive a complimentary pack of Kamikura Roasted Fair Trade Kamakura Blend Coffee from Sambon Coffee, a product born from a project initiated by Kamakura Ethical Lab.
