Kamakura Ethical Lab has collaborated with Kokubu Shutoken Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) and Mitsumoto Coffee Co., Ltd. Kamakura General Factory (head office: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Kamakura General Factory: Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture) to add the Fair Trade Kamakura Blend to the company's "Kamakura Roasted Coffee" series. The company has developed an ethical coffee product from Kamakura that is circular and contributes to society, with the aim of realizing a sustainable society in which no one is left behind.
Kamakura Roasted Coffee - Fair Trade Kamakura Blend was commercialized after a voting event was held in various locations in Kamakura in May 2024 , in which citizens voted for one of three fair trade certified coffee flavors carefully selected by Sanbon Coffee's coffee appraisers and three packaging designs by designers living in Kamakura.
This new coffee, " Kamakura Roasted Coffee Fair Trade Kamakura Blend," will be available at stores nationwide from Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
In addition, in order to preserve the green spaces distributed throughout Kamakura city, which are linked to historical and cultural heritage, for future generations and to conserve the environment, a portion of the sales of this product will be donated to the Kamakura City Green Space Conservation Fund.
