Coffee Project

Industrial and regional development cooperation

Country of origin information

The coffee beans used as ingredients in Kamakura Roasted Coffee - Fairtrade Kamakura Blend are made from certified ingredients with 100% content, which are sourced according to standards from Fairtrade certified producers. Brazilian and Colombian coffee beans are used.Coffee is grown on approximately 12.5 million farms across the ‘Bean Belt’, a land belt with suitable climate and soil conditions on both sides of the equator, spanning more than 50 countries. Around 95% of the farms, which produce about three-quarters of the world's coffee, are small-scale farmers of five hectares, but face problems of child labour, poverty, climate change and low trade prices. While importing the raw materials for Kamakura Roasted Coffee - Fairtrade Kamakura Blend, the entire supply chain gives back to the producers in the form of equipment, education and healthcare at a Fairtrade premium through Fairtrade Label Japan.
